Now to study at the most prestigious institute, IIT one has to pay hefty fees. The institute has increased its fees structure from 90,000 to Rs.2 Lakh for the undergraduate course.
According to a report, officials in Education Ministry said that Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and those from extremely poor family may need to pay fees at all.
The Fees though was recommended to raised upto three lakh but IIT council took the decision to make it 2 lakh.
All the IIT have said that raising fees was overdue, given the inflation and the huge cost involved in running the institute.
