ALS Ice bucket challenge is an activity to promote awareness for the disease Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This disease affects brain and also the spinal cord causing motor neurons to degenerate and die, thus leading to gradual paralysis and eventually, death.
Till now there is no known cure for the disease but the ALS association in the US and other charitable organizations are researching to find out the cure as soon as possible. These researches require lots of money and for that they have come up with the idea of throwing ice water to raise fund.

In the Ice Bucket challenge nominated people either opt to pour a bucket full of ice water on their head within 24 hours and share the video of the event, then further challenge others to do the same in next 24 hours or forfeit by doing financial charity.
Pouring a bucket of ice water over a person definitely will never help Motor neuron disease charities BUT the money it has raised will definitely do. The craze of ice bucket challenge has raised an unpredictable £ 48 millions in less than a month.
Anyone can help the organization by donating the money even if they don’t want to take the ice bucket challenge. ALS association is accepting the donation on their official website. You just need to have a valid credit card, which allows international transactions or a PayPal account to donate for the cause. You can donate as less as $5.
Just go to the donate section on the official website of ALS and fill the form with whatever amount of money you want to donate. You would be asked to fill the credit card details or PayPal account before moving to the donation confirmation.
If you know your employer or you are an employer, you can be a part of ‘Matching Gift Program’ via your HR department, which will double or triple the donation amount.
