GROWER CHAMPAGNE THIS NEW YEAR!
French winemakers have been crafting sparkling wine from grapes grown in the country’s Champagne region. But some Champagne vineyard owners have decided they had rather make their own wines than sell to the bigger brands.
Grower Champagne is a small production, which are hand-crafted sparkles which take on elements of where they are grown. And while they can be hard to find, they are definitely worth the search. So if you have never heard of grower Champagnes, but you should try something new this year, here are a few to sample:
Marie-Courtin, Eloquence Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs, Champagne, France, NV ($70)
Marc Hébrart Brut Rosé Premier Cru Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, France, NV ($58)
Egly-Ouriet Les Vignes de Vrigny Brut Premier Cru, Champagne, France, NV ($60)
