The Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday has predicted an above – normal monsoon this year and this much needed by the Indian economy.
Prediction of good monsoon will also give wings to PM Modi’s economic ambitions. India was facing severe drought conditions from last two years and now with the IMD predictions, people are expecting good time for themselves.

Apart from it, the low inflation and prediction of good monsoon will also offer some leverage to RBI to pursue its rate cut plans.
If the MET predictions turned out to be correct then it would be the first good rainfall year, since the Modi Government assumed the power. As per the SBI economists, good monsoon will boost the GDP numbers. Overall good monsoon will bring a lot of relief to the people of India.
