Tom Ford 54 years old is a master fashion designer and director of films. His film “A Single Man” even got an international recognition and was nominated for an Academy Award. “I am a creative person and both fashion designing and directing films involves lot of creative mind and I enjoy both,” said Tom Ford. Born and brought up in Texas later on shifted to New York for pursuing his career. “Initially I was attracted to interior architecture and even did a diploma on the subject. I later on shifted to designing clothes out of passion” said Tom Ford.
His stint with international brands like Gucci and Yves Saint Lauren helped him to get connected with celebrities and rich people all over the world. He said, “To become a successful designer you have to be an egoist as well as confident enough to face any eventualities. My clothes mean actual clothing, I like making actual clothes like shirts, jackets, suits and ties,” Ford said.
Ford likes to design mens collection more than women. He informed, “Women’s fashions change from season to season until you throw everything and start a fresh. Men’s fashion is limited to cutting edge. The lapel can change a little. The easiest thing is to design men’s suit because the inspiration is myself and I design them for myself,” he jokingly said. He built his career doing mistake and correcting it. He has no hesitation in saying that I notice imperfection in shoes, skirts, dresses, a part pf pants and I correct it. Only my doing mistake you can learn. Nobody is perfect in this world.”
