On the 65th anniversary of our Independence Day we as a Nation celebrate the birth of a new Nation..INDIA which in the chronicles of history is a short form of INDEPENDENT NATION DECLARED IN AUGUST.
Independence Day should not be a day of leisure with an obligatory nod to the momentous event of 15Th August 1947. Freedom does not mean doing what we want to and indulging ourselves regardless of larger consequences for the whole nation…freedom should be synonymous with what is good for the nation and we should be proud of acting accordingly.
A celebration should not be only a party of sorts as it snubs the solemn legacy of the freedom fighters and the founders-it is not a government anniversary only but a day and time to remember that independence is a spirit and soul ofa nation—this day is yours if you know who you are and what you should be.
Plato observed 2400 years ago the link between “license and despotism” and Socrates scorned on a nation full of freedom resulting in “variety and disorder.”
Let us pledge to work towards a nationalistic sentiment and build an unparallelled NATION.
