Former BJP President Bangaru Laxman Dies
The former president of Bhartiya Janata Party, Bangaru Laxman died on 1st march 2014 at Yashoda Hospital, Secundrabad in Hyderabad. He was 74.
MrLaxman who was suffering from prolonged illness and respiratory problems died at around 5 pm due to a cardiac attack. He had recently come out on bail due to health issues. Mr Laxman was arrested under the prevention of corruption act by a special CBI court and sentenced to a 4 years jail in April 2012. He had resigned from the post of BJP’s National executive soon after the court judgment.
The leader and former president of BJP Mr Nitin Gadkari described Shri Bangaru Laxman as a dedicated party leader with strong commitment to the BJP ideology.
“The news of the Mr Bangaru’s passing away has put me in a deep sorrow. Mr Bangaru was not only a dalit leader but also he was a great leader of our party (BJP). In his whole political and social life, he has done a lot for the dalits and deprived people. Today we have lost a great leader” said Mr Rajnath Singh (Current national President of BJP) in his condolence message (bjp.org).
