It has been a month since this iconic American muscle car, the Mustang, had been launched in India, and it has now topped the charts to further, become the most-selling sports car of the country.
The launch of this car was highly anticipated and Ford has showcased it in India at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.
The car has also been awarded with the title of one of the world’s bestselling sports coupe for the year 2015.
Introduced in July with a price of Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the muscle car was quite quick to gain buyers’ attention and was sold 35 units out of the 100 units which was allotted for sale in India this year.
The deliveries of the same has been done last month. Word is that all these 100 units have been booked, but there is no confirmation as it could be just a rumour.
The competition however, stands nowhere near the Mustang, since similarly the speed cars have a ratio to sell 5 to 10 units in a year, which further means that the sales difference for rivals to cover is huge!
Ford Mustang
The Indian Mustang GT supports a 5.0-litre V8 engine, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. This mighty engine further produces 401PS of power and also 515Nm of torque.
Apart from the performance aspect, the car also scores high on the style quotient and its features. It comes with a four selectable drive modes (normal, sport, sport+ and snow/wet), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control and electronic line-lock (a tech aid to help pull off a clean burnout).
A touchscreen infotainment system, Ford MyKey, a push-button start/stop system and also a keyless entry, are the fectures also offered.
The car also carries legacy of more than 50 years and by just a glimpse of it still makes fans’ hearts race.
TThe American automaker has also bet heavily on this Mustang in India and the move seems to have paid off.
