For breaching ICC code of conduct, Murli Vijay has been penalized

On Saturday, at Feroz shah Kotla ground, Murli Vijay the Indian opener has been fined for violating the International cricket council code of conduct during the 3rd day of the final test match against South Africa.

30 per cent of his match fee was fined to Vijay by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates elite panel of ICC match referees.

The player was found to have breached Article 2.1.5 of the ICC code of conduct for players and players support personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match.”

On the last ball of fifth over from Morne Morkel, when he was declared out, Vijay showed dissent by pointing at his arm guard as he walled off.

The charge of leveled by on field umpires Kumar Dharamasena, Bruce Oxenford and third umpire CK Nandan.
