The monopoly of established fashion designers is slowly making way to celebrities. Some of the wedll known celebrities like Kardashion sisters, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Justin Tmberlake, Nichole Riche are trying their hand in luxury market. Even in India people like Queeni Singh, Twinkle Khanna are into the business of glamour. “It is easy for celebrities to do business like clothe line, jewellery, perfume and so on because their name sells and lot of customers love to buy their branded stuff,” said Britney Spears the pop diva who herself has brought out series of perfume line.
Take the case of Nichole Riche, after her split with Paris Hilton, she started her own jewlellery line, switching to maternity lwear and recently women’s clothing line ‘Winter Kate”. She said, “I am a creative person and famous among rich people who are always willing to buy expensive items. It was easy for me to sell my brands including jewellery and clothing line.”
Justin Timberlake though busy in promoting his album recently churn out well fitting jeans in collaboration with his friend Trace Ayala and their company’s annul turn over comes to $50 million a year. “I hope sale will increase t5 to 20 percent a year,” said Timberlake.
The Kardarshion sisters have their own brand and boutique. The realty TV star’s brand “Lipsy” is an instant hit among trendy chics. Their new line consisting of 20 styles are designed to flatter figures with details such as lace, faux furs and peplums.
The pop diva Britney Spears besides music, TV shows and a popular perfume collection recently tried her hand into clothing line specially gown. She said, “I love to wear gowns in various ceremonies and everybody appreciated it. So I have decided to bring out exclusive collection of gowns to suit everybody’s body.”
Jessica Sampson is not far behind. She tried her hand in so many things including branded bags, shoes, boots and lately maternity clothes. Her empire is worth $1 billion. “I have to work very hard because lot of personal touches is involved in my line.”
In India former model turned business woman Queeni Singh has her own jewellery brand. “My friends helped me a lot when the idea of designer jewellery cropped up. Now I have a name in the market and my stuffs are sold like hot cake,” said Queeni Singh.
