In a profound initiative by leading e-commerce giants in the country, both Flipkart and Snapdeal have come forth to admit disabled people as their employees.
Around 200 employees with physical disabilities were recruited by these companies in Bengaluru giving wings to the dreams of people like Sumanth V, Flipkart’s assistant manager, who was born with speech impairment but today 40% of his job depends on speech.
Even Madhumita Venkatramana was born with an orthopaedic disability but now serves as associate director at Snapdeal.
Creating such work environments and favourable conditions will not only boost their morale but will be a boost for the society as a whole.
