Do you know it’s our brain, who tells about the taste?
According to a latest study, the ability to perceive five common taste that are sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umami comes from our brain not from our tongue. The study was conducted by the scientists of Columbia University and they were able to switch off and on their taste through brain manipulation.
They examined whether manipulation in the brain neurons could evoke the perception of sweet, without the mouse actually tasting it either. Sweet and bitter were chosen easily because they are more critical.
They found that actually its brain, who sends the signal about a particular taste.
