What if just in a moment you lose your identity you have been living all your life with? Revolving around the same issue is the life of Dharampal (Paresh Rawal) who finds out that he has been adopted and was born in a Muslim family. Dharam Sankat Mein is a movie which features the stalwarts of Bollywood: Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah and is a comedy satirical movie which focuses on the life of Dharampal and his confusion.
After knowing what his real religion is, Dharampal is trying to find his father and in that process he wants to learn all about being a Muslim. However, he wants to do it in a secretive way because he knows that once people would come to know about him, things might change a lot. So, he comes across not only identity crisis but also the cultural diversities and difference in the diction.
In this journey, it is Nawab Mehmood Nazeem Ali Shah Khan Bahadur, a character played by Annu Kapoor, who helps Dharampal to know and learn his real dharam. One would come across some funny bits in the video and also, Gippy Grewal’s thundering voice to tap your feet on the dance floor. Some dialogues are definitely going to hit your mind, one of them being: ‘Dharam chahe joh bhi ho, topi pehle pehna dete hai”.
The movie is directed by Fuwad Khan and is produced by Sajjad Chunawala and Shariq Patel under the banner Trigno Media and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and is all set to release on 10th April 2015.
