The Not- So – Raw facts about the Dish
In the last two decades, Sushi, the Japanese dish has become a bit of a sensation. It has now become popular all across the world, especially amongst the millennials. It is famous all over the world, but that doesn’t mean everyone understands what this dish technically is. Sushi is not the same thing as raw fish. Rather, raw fish, known as Sashimi. Although these small bites of heaven are available in a lot of restaurants, a lot of people get skeptical when it comes to cooking it at home.
Cooking sushi can be a great way to entertain dinner guests and is actually a fun process.
Here is a guide for the sushi lovers who want cook it at their comfort zone:

Ingredients
- 2 cups short grain or medium grain rice
- 1 TSP salt
- 1 package roasted seaweed sheets
- ¼ cup rice vinegar
- 2 carrots (whole)
- 1 cucumber
- 1 Avocado
- Cream Cheese
- Soy Sauce
- Wasabi Sauce for garnish
Raw and cooked fish such a salmon and tuna can be easily added to it if you want to cook non-veg sushi.
Material List
- Large Mixing bowl
- Cooking pot for preparing rice
- Rolling mat ( bamboo sushi mats are available at specialty stores)
- Small Bowl
- Sharp Knife
- Cutting Board

How to cook rice?
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in the cooking pot
- Add the two cups of short grain rice to boiling water
- Stir it periodically and keep rice at a low boil
- Remove it from heat when all water has been absorbed by the rice
- Transfer it to the large bowl and place into the refrigerator to cool
Now, add the stick to the rice
- Mix rice vinegar and salt in a small bowl
- Pour Mixture over rice in the large mixing bowl
- Use your fingers to evenly mix it
Prepare fillers
Use a cutting board.
- Clean and peel cucumber and carrots
- Slice carrots and cucumber length-ways to create narrow strips
- Remove avocado from skin, remove pit and slice into narrow strips
- Last but not the least, remove cream cheese from packaging
Last but not the least, load it ingredients
Now, it’s time to add fillers to it
- Place a sea wood on the sushi roller, shiny part down
- Spread sticky rice evenly across the seaweed sheet
- Place of the veggies into it. Now, simply hold the sides of the roll and start rolling from top to bottom
- Cut it into pieces with a sharp knife and set aside
- Serve it with wasabi and pickles
