Directed by Ketan Mehta and Produced by Deepa Sahi and Aanand Mahendroo, the upcoming movie, Rang Rasiya is starring Randeep Hooda, Nandana Sen and a new comer Tristha Parashar in lead roles.
The film is based on the life of an Indian painter-Raja Ravi Verma. The plot is of nineteenth century, same as, Ketan’s last commercial success, Mangal Pandey: the Rising (2005). Rang Rasiya is based on a classic Indian novel ‘Raja Ravi Varma’ written by the award winning novelist and playwright Ranjit Desai. The movie depicts the extraordinary life of the painter and his determination in following his passion despite social pressures and legal battles.
Showcased at London Film Festival in November 2008, the movie was delayed due to some controversies of hot & obscene scenes but is finally releasing this Diwali.
