Indian economy is linked to the railways. Also, with a bulk of travellers opting for trains as their preffered mode of transport, India’s ancient network, albeit the World’s largest is under contant pressure.
To assuage this issue, Indian Railways have created a ‘High Speed Rail Corpn. Of India Ltd.’, whose express purpose is to identify and create corridors, where super high speed trains may be plied.
To help India with this, a consortium led by Chinese Railway’s ‘Third Railway Survey and Design Group’ has been awarded the mandate for the study of the Delhi-Mumbai Corridor.
