BRICS adopts ‘New Delhi Declaration on Education’
BRICS adopts ‘New Delhi Declaration on Education’:- On Friday, the BRICS nations adopted the ‘New Delhi Declaration on Education’ firming to ensure the inclusive and equitable quality of education and promote the life-long learning opportunities for one and all.
About the declaration
This declaration was adopted at the conference of Education Ministers of all the BRICS nations which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The conference was held to discuss and coordinate different areas of mutual interest and develop a framework for future cooperation in the field of education, stated an official statement.
The Declaration among many other things, involves enforcing actions to formulate countries specific targets inside the broader scope of the Sustainable Development Goal four (SDG4), restating the need for the universal equal access to quality education, including both secondary and higher education, technical and vocational education and training, and all the lifelong learning opportunities, added the statement added.

BRICS Network University
The meeting also calls for the BRICS countries’ collaboration in the field of education, research and innovation connecting through the BRICS Network University and organising a conference of the BRICS Network University annually, encouraging more and more universities to participate in this league of BRICS University, to facilitate a student mobility and collaborative research, the statement added.
Through this declaration, the BRICS nations have also agreed to expand the technical and vocational education and all skill related developmental programmes, for facilitating acquisition of different skills and competencies by the youngsters and adults for enhancing their ability of employment and encourage the innovation and entrepreneurship.
