Year 2016 saw lot of plus size models, bloggers and designers making news and 27 year old Lebanon born now based in New York Nada Aboulhosn are among the favourites. She was grown up as a tom boy and not a fashion conscious till 17. “Some how, I was attracted to glamour and started taking pictures and putting in my own blog. That got noticed and seventies magazine editor asked me whether I could do a shoot for their curvy section. I agreed and rest was history,” Nada informed

Started in a small way, today Nada has 3lacs viewers on Instagram, who visits her blog daily and she has already made influence on the international fashion scene. Soon she was on the editorial and fashion shoot Teen Vogue, Lucky, Boohoo and American Apparels. “In collaboration with Boohoo I designed my own prêt line for plus size body and it was a super hit. I personally donot like the word plus size. Plus size differs from brands to brands. Now a day everybody like to wear plus size labels and that has become craze among teenagers,” Nada said.

Nada hate calling her plus size model. “I donot take that label seriously. After all fashion is fashion. Plus size is not an issue and the real issue is comfort level. If you are comfort in those clothes it is ok. I donot believe in out classing somebody just because you are this size of that size,” she said Young teens look at her for inspiration. “Lot of young girls watches my blog and engages with me seeking confidence building. I give them tips. You wear whatever you want, wherever you want and whenever you want. Donot compromise on your choice and just ignore somebody’s comments. That is my fitness and confidence building mantra,” said Nada.
While designing clothes, everybody inspires her, people around me, landscapes and interior of stores. “I try to put inspiration from all of it.” She is working on her new collection and her role model is her mum and other strong women.
