After the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya, the former BCCI president, the Indian Cricket Board called for a special general meeting to elect it’s new President. Shashank Manohar, a prominent lawyer was the first and undisputed choice for this post.
Before the meeting, the East zone backed Manohar to be the president. This makes the meeting just a formality as Manohar now had full support to become the President.
Until then the official announcement is awaited.
