Artery disease can be treated through ‘Hunger Hormone’: study
According to a research, the appetite – regulating hormone could be used to treat an advanced form of peripheral artery disease characterized by pain at rest. The researchers focused on the treatment of critical limb ischemia in which half of the cases leads to death.
According to a report, the current study provides platform for future studies to look at the long –term potential of gherlin to see if it could become standard treatment for CLI.
While using a mouse model of CLI, the researchers showed that administering gherlin on a regular basis can improve flow in affected limbs.
