The United States Education Minister, Arne Duncan will be resigning in December. He has been in the office since 2009. Duncan was elected by Barack Obama.
He and Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack are the only ones who’ve been in the office since 2009. In 2014, a no confidence vote was also passed against Duncan and the Department of Education asked for his resignation. And a year after this, Duncan has finally decided to step down.
As the news about Arne Duncan resigning in December came out. The news that John King will be succeeding his post as the Education Secretary of the United States, also came out.
King is currently working for the federal education department (since January 2015) and before that, he was New York’s top state education official.
