Anushka side of NH10
“It’s not about violence, it’s about the story” says Anushka Sharma while speaking about her upcoming movie NH10, which is also her debut movie as a producer. Based on a true story, NH10 is the story of a young upper middle class couple Meera (Anushka Sharma) and Arjun (Nein Bhoopalam) who end up at the wrong place at the wrong time from where their life takes them on a roller coaster ride, not for fun, for sure.
Talking about her experience as the Producer and about the story, Anushka in an exclusive conversation with One World News, said, “Both the fields have offered me a different experience altogether but so much has been happening lately around me that it is difficult for me to draw a line of difference. All I am thinking about is the movie and I am reiterating on the date so that you all mention it big and clear in your publications that it is releasing this weekend on 13th March.”
Further, she spoke to us that why did she choose NH10 to debut as a producer, “- In my whole career I have taken up projects which have excited me as an artist. I like to test my capabilities and when I read the script of NH10, I was very excited since it is true-event based and something I have never heard of or seen before in our Bollywood-cinema history. So, I really wanted to be a part of it hence, it became an easy decision to produce this movie. I never knew that I would produce a movie, if you would have asked me some 4 years back about producing I would have laughed about it and asked you in turn if you have gone nuts. However, now I believe that I constantly want to get into different roles in the industry but yes Directing is something I would not go into since it is an art of storytelling and if anything goes wrong the entire movie would go into drain, so yes, I am happy wherever I am. It was more of a commercially viable project for me.”
Anushka Sharma feels that the creative appetite of an artist dies when he or she has to consider so many rules and regulations while working or creating a piece. And that is the reason why the industry is losing out on getting new concepts at front. “I believe people are responsible and intelligent enough to judge the film and they have the exit doors to leave the hall if they don’t like it. So, it would be better to leave it on audience and to wait for their reactions rather than cutting some parts of the movie that they think would be inappropriate. I wish censor board could give the producer such freedom and this is not what I am saying as a producer, but what I feel as an actress and as a member of Bollywood family.”
Talking about his experience with Anushka Sharma, in an exclusive conversation, Neil Bhoopalam said, “(Laughing) Anushka has been very kind to offer me her food. Well, when we are performing, each actor is trying to give their best and enhance each scene and make it as realistic as possible. Navdeep Singh gave us the responsibility to carry each scene really well. I don’t know if you know this or not but we went through some workshops to know and delve into the characters and to understand them. As far as Anushka is concerned, on set she was always an actress, there was no ‘Movie Producer’ feeling from her however, it was me who had to push himself to match up to the performances of these actors.
One World News during the conversation got to know how this bubbly girl is in real life, “As a person you cannot be chirpy all the time else people will think that something is wrong with you. I believe one cannot be in a single mood consistently but I am a happy person who loves to keep people around her happy. So, yeah I have other moods also.”
Continuing further Anushka told us what she does when she gets angry, “I definitely don’t pick a rod. I mean who hits with a rod unless you are a psychopath? But anyway as far as what I do when I am angry is concerned, I am very vocal about my emotions. If I am angry I will not keep it in me like many others, in fact, I would go and tell them and if someone asks me if I am okay, I would answer- No! I am not okay and I would tell them why that is. People around me know it very well. I am what I am and you have to deal with it.
Anushka feels she is a true Taurus, who is stubborn but with reasoning and feels really fortunate about getting this role. This is another women-centric movie, which sure is going to make a mark in the box-office, we wish the disparity in pay that Anushka spoke about in her recent press-interactions diminishes with this movie and NH10, which is releasing on 13th March 2015, manages to enter the best movies list of this year.
