And The Award Goes To…
The results for most non-prestigious awards of Bollywood, Golden Kela Awards, are out. Judged on the basis of originality, engagement and entertainment; these celebrity/people were honoured for their worst performance in Bollywood at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on March 29, 2014.
Ajay Devgan for ‘Himmatwala’ and Sonakshi Sinha for ‘R…Rajkumar’ received Golden Kelas for their worst performances in 2013, for second consecutive year, at 6th Golden Kela Awards Show.
Anant Singh, Creative Head of Golden Kela Awards, said, “In Bollywood today, the box office figures have no correlation to the quality of the film. Our sincerest hope is that 10 years down the line, the figures will be forgotten, while the Kelas they got are remembered”.
Moving further, the award for worst actor in supporting role went to Aditya Roy Kapoor for ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, waking him up to the reality that one has more to do in life rather than getting high!
Plus, to our readers surprise, the Golden Kela for worst director went to Sanjay Leela Bhansal for ‘Goliyon Ki Raas Leela… Ram Leela’
The list isn’t coming to end yet, there is a lot for everyone out there to know and be surprised about. Other big winners of the evening were, Worst Film: ‘Himmatwala’, which according to them was most irritating melodramatic movie with over-the-top acting, lame jokes, mindless entertainment, and just about everything else! The Bawara Ho Gaya Kya Award went to Aamir Khan for Dhoom 3, for his unnecessary double role, stupid stunts and finally for surrendering to the dark side of Bollywood movies.
“Aamir Khan once said that he loves the Kela Awards, because all other awards are rigged. Wonder what he has to say about us now,” commented Anant Singh, Creative Head of Golden Kela Awards.
‘Party all night’ has been chosen as one of the most irritating song by the viewers because after a point it was unbearable to imagine Yo Yo Honey Singh as the voice of Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.
Golden Kela Awards has also shunned Shahid Kapoor’s efforts to act and has awarded him with Why Are You Still Trying Award for R… Rajkumar, to make him understand, that stupid comedy and senseless dialogues would definitely not give him stardom.
However, Golden Kela Awards, known for honouring the worst of Bollywood, has also found some good performances this year and has awarded them with Anti-Kela Awards. The Anti Kela awards went to four outstanding films, Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns – for being the only real sequel made last year; Go Goa Gone – for being India’s first ever Zombie Comedy and Stoner Film in one cool package; The Lunchbox – for showing the world that Indian films are not all song and dance and Shahid – for being the best biopic made by Bollywood in a long time.
This year too, there were few more special categories for actors like The Aakhir Kyun Award which went to Priyanka Chopra for the music video Exotic, The Dara Singh Award for the Worst Accent went to Deepika Padukone for Chennai Express, The Bas Kijiye Bohot Hogaya Award was given to Sunny Deol and Aap Yahaan Aaye Kisliye Award was given to Uday Chopra. Rest, awards like Ra.One Award for Worst Premise were given to Dhoom 3 and Krrish 3, Rajshri Award for Most Regressive Film of the Year was given to Ranjhanaa and this is Too Much Award – Vivek Oberoi.
Other than the above mentioned (not-so) precious awards, Golden Kela was given to below mentioned movies/directors/actors too-
• Worst Supporting Actor (Female) – Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandes and Amisha Patel for Race 2
• RGV Ki Aag Award for the Most Pointless Remake/Sequel – Himmatwala
• Why Are You Still Trying Award – Shahid Kapoor for R…Rajkumar
• Worst Debut – Leander Paes
Wishing congratulations to these award winners, Golden Kela Awards is hoping for better performances in future, by our beloved Bollywood.
