E-commerce major Amazon announced Thursday that it has invested in six new fulfillment centers (FC) in India to meet the growing needs of its vendor base fastest growing in the country.
New FCs will be established in Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai further expand the company’s presence in the country and in preparation for the upcoming holiday season. The company did not disclose financial details of the investment.

With a total storage capacity of about 7.5 million cubic feet, the FCs allow thousands of salespeople to grow profitably in the burgeoning digital economy of India.
In June last year, Amazon had opened its biggest FC in India in Kothur in Telangana.
The announcement comes on the heels of Amazon give India launched its 48 hours on sale Thursday in the online market is offering discounts on smart phones and other electronic products. The sale will last until Friday.
