Amazon re-jigs inventory portfolio in a Monopolistic move
Flexing it’s retailing muscle, Amazon has decided to stop selling Google Chromecast and Apple TV devices.
The reason? They compete directly with Amazon’s own media viewing hardware. This move has been taken, because of the threat to Amazon’s streaming hardware, as Apple and Google have launched improved versions of their own products, which presumably are superior to those offered by Amazon.
This move raises issues of monopolistic behaviour, and also of undermining consumer interest, remniscent of telephone, railway, steel, petroleum and other monopolies of early 1900s. These were finally broken up by the U.S. Government to uphold consumer interest and free trade.
