Tanvi Kedia

Tanvi launched her label in 2007 with her own label, Tanvi Kedia.’Jama’ the collection that she has showcased here at the AIFW A/W 2015, marks her launch of the Indian line. Inspired from all things vintage, the collection showcases ethnic designs set in various moods.


Sarees, shararas, lehengas, Kurtas and skirts, in a vibrant color palette that boasts of oranges, pinks, reds, greens, purples, blue, yellow and shades that make you happy in the grim winters.


Finely crafted with the most intricate thread embroidery, the garments showcase a comfortable day and evening look.


Horses, decorated elephant motifs, flowers and graphic patterns in bright shades on base monotones of white, blue, black and red boasts of the rich heritage of the Indian needle work. Tanvi completed the look of her garments with handmade Pakistani juties.


Paromita Banerjee

As a sequel to her earlier collection of A/W 2013, she says BORO II is an extension to that collection deriving inspiration from the Japanese term ‘Boro’ for ‘too good to waste’ by recycling fabrics and other stuff which go into her collection. She has set her winters in a casual mood with a lot of layering in shades of grey, blue, black and white. A lot of prints and looms take inspiration from assam


Khadi being the ruling fabric, linen, cotton and handloom silk, fabricated into sarees with long full sleeved blouses, straight pants, Kurtas, jackets and vest in myriad shades of winters, completed the entire look.


Not to miss the muffler for those grimly cold days. Interestingly, she has given this casual and very much a winter wear look to the Saree also.


Eka

The designer behind the label ‘Eka’ is a versatile woman who is most talented and holds interest in many things apart from just clothes. She is creative to the core.


The A/W2015 collection draws it’s inspiration from a trunk full of memories. Stories collected from different people around the world and the many moods or captures.


Eka’s collection ‘ Seekers Keepers’ plays with the eternal plaid in different moods and sizes. Casual looks created with layers in tunics, short dresses, skirts, sarees, ankle length pants and mufflers, in shades of pearly white, deep blues, black, beige and rustic tones fabricated with wool, silk and linen definitely bring in the element of those memorable cold days!


Her long jackets in handloom linen prints, short jackets in base blues and long tunics are the garments to watch out for.

Started by Shani Himanshu and Smita Singh Rahtore in 2005, the chic label came out with a distinctive styling that talked of flowy garments and casual looks for the winter of 2015. Almost a decade since it’s inception the brand has grown in leaps and bounds and the collection that rocked the ramp was nothing short of it’s expectations.


Saree pants, kimono coats, quarter moon shirt dress, drape dress and high waist pants designed in varied fabrics, from khadi denim to fine wool silk to Egyptian cotton, the fabrics spoke of their fine craftsmanship while the designs impressed audiences with their simplicity and chic look.


Asian influence came together with the western look and enticed everyone with the ease in the gait of the models who were celebrities from the world of fashion. Rakesh Thakore, Kanishtha Dhankar, Nitin Chauhan, Divya Singh, Ekta Rajani and many others who walked the ramped set the mood for a casually stylish winters of 2015 from the house of 11.11


Anupama Dayaal

Inspired by the Mughal Tomb of JamaliKamali known for their fascinating stories and architectural value, her collection is set in bright hues with fine intricate thread embroidery in fabrics like Chiffons, cotton brocades and what she calls light as air silks! The women collection’s muse is Nur Jahan, Mughal Emperor, Jahangir’s beautiful wife.


Sanchita

Her Tuxedo pants were a hit. What a fine cut and stitch! The A/W 2015 collection that she presented with a touch of twist in graphics inspired by Ikat and animal prints were very impressive.A special mention to her A-line shift dresses in the feminine 1950s style and also the full skirts and ruffle dresses and tops. Her collection fabrics were Tulle, Fleece, Brocade, Satin and honeycomb.


Namrata Joshipura

Inspired by the Greek goddess of Night, NYX, her collection set in satin, shimmer tulle, silk, georgette, faux fur and neoprene with shades of deep red, oranges, greys blues and greens. And she dedicates this show to the Indian Women’s Hockey Team who won the Hockey World League on March 2015!
