Alzheimer’s brought on by Stress
We know, or are now finding out that stress causes most of our ailments like high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, forms of cancer, etc.
Researchers at New York, U.S.A., based Albert Einstein Collage of Medicine, and Montefiore Health System have recently conducted a study, which have led them to conclude that stress also brings about Alzheimer’s disease.
The scientists studied over 500 older individuals, and found that a definate link exists between chronic stress and ‘amnestic mild cognitive impairment’, whose main attribute is loss of memory.
In the study, they found that there is a direct co-realtion between stress and development of amnestic mild cognitive impairmnet (aMCI).
The researchers said that aMCI is a precursor to Alzheimer’s disease, and according to them activities, and practices which result in stress reduction, or failing these, taking stress reducing drugs can delay or even prevent the onset of cognitive impairment.
