Air India to reduce its air-fare
New Delhi: On Wednesday, Air India has launched a promotion scheme for short term, wherein they would put sales on their air-fare. The tickets can be booked under the scheme from 27th of February to 1st of March for travel between 29th of March and 30th of September, of this year.
The scheme covers around 115 flights and offers approximately 30 percent discount on the fare. Due to this scheme, the industry is aiming to attract large sections of people and it is helping to create new demand for air travel and positively affecting the market. Other players said the airlines are also bracing for the entry of AirAsia India and preparing for a competition on the price front.
The Airline operators are looking to fill their seats that are currently running below optimum capacity. But additionally, with AirAsia soon entering the scene, current operators are preparing for the tight competition in prices.
