22nd Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award
This year film maker Muzaffar Ali was presented with 22nd Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhawna Award at Jawahar Bhawan, New Delhi for his contribution in spreading communal harmony and peace Jahan-E-khusro , Sufism and music. Our former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President of All India Congress Committee Sonia Gandhi presented the award for his precious contribution. Muzaffar Ali also made historic movies like Umrao Jaan, Gaman and Ghizan. He was also honored with Padma Shri Award for his work in 2005.

Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award or Rajiv Gandhi National Communal Harmony Award was instituted by All-India Congress Committee (AICC) in 1992 to commemorate the contribution of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi for the development of our nation.This award is celebrated every year on 20 August, the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi as Sadbhavna Diwas, also known as Harmony Day. The award recognizes outstanding contribution of personalities in promoting communal harmony and peace.The award prize carries a cash of five lakh rupees and a citation. 21st Rajiv Gandhi National Sadhbhavna Award was presented to Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan in 2013.
