How did UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s remark sparks controversy on social media?
The election season is gaining momentum in Uttar Pradesh. Hindu-Muslim polarization has started in the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said the word ‘Abba Jaan’ while giving a speech on ration in a program. Yogi had also made indecent remarks on Congress. In this case, Yagi is getting scolded all around. On the remarks of the Chief Minister, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah said in a tweet on Sunday that, “I have always believed that the intention of the BJP is on an agenda other than gross communalism and hatred. The election is not to be fought. All his venom is towards Muslims, here is a chief minister who wants to win the election again by claiming that Muslims ate the entire ration of Hindus’ share.”
National President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Asaduddin Owaisi has taken a dig at CM Yogi Adityanath’s statement in Kushinagar. Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned the functioning of the Yogi Adityanath government. Owaisi told Yogi Adityanath that if he had done the work, then Abba would not have to shout.
Hashtag Abbajan continued to trend on Twitter across the country throughout the day. Many people kept tweeting their pictures with their father saying ‘Hamara Abbajan’.
What did Yogi Adityanath say?
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was speaking at a program organized in Kushinagar. Speaking on ration, he said that before 2017 the poor were not getting ration. ‘Because then people called ‘Abba Jaan’ used to eat that ration. Now no one can eat or digest the ration of poor people. If anyone does this, they will have to go to jail. They will get rigorous punishment by the state.

Opposition hits out at Yogi Adityanath’s abba Jaan remark
Party spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh accused Yogi of having a “petty mentality” and said that this trick of dividing people is not going to work. He told reporters, “The Chief Minister who does not know the difference between Lucknow and Calcutta, the Chief Minister who does not know the difference between India and America, to take seriously the words of that Chief Minister is to insult the seriousness.” He further said that Yogi was nowhere to be seen while the dead bodies were floating in the Ganges during the Corona epidemic, but now elections are approaching. But going back to his old ways, he started remembering ‘Abba Jaan’. JD(U) president Lalan Singh said that political parties should maintain “restraint” in their comments, asserting that the country belongs to everyone, be it Hindus, Muslims, Christians, or any other community.
