Arvind Kejriwal good governance vs BJP’s nationalism: Who will win Delhi Election?
Do people of Delhi understand how politicians are acing the election game?
During the early days of Election campaign of Delhi Election 2020, Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi Assembly Election will be fought on the basis of good works done by Delhi government. Recent events of the blame game, calling a leader – terrorist, suggesting a party to change its name, accusing the HM of spreading lies – suggest otherwise from what Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said at the start of Delhi Election campaign.
Arvind Kejriwal in India’s TV show “AAP KI ADALAT” said that Amit Shah is a liar and he is spreading lies to gain political advantage. Delhi CM said that Amit Shah has lied about AAP’s promise of CCTV. Kejriwal also rubbished Union Home Minister’s charge that the language of Kejriwal and some other opposition leaders were the same as that of Imran Khan, Pakistan Prime Minister. Delhi CM said that Amit Shah says whatever comes to his mind.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who recently vacated the seat of BJP President, has come out all guns blazing against the Aam Aadmi Party and its chief Arvind Kejriwal. He has launched a series of attacks against him in different rallies of New Delhi. Along with him, BJP Delhi Chief Manoj Tiwari, BJP Model Town candidate Kapil Mishra, BJP MP from West Delhi, Parvesh Verma have also used the opportunity to attack Arvind Kejriwal. Delhi CM was even called a terrorist and a pro-Pakistani.
From talking about the basic necessities of people and good governance, both the major political parties have started to attract voters with the communal angel. Election campaign which started with promises has converted once-again into the blame game.

What voters think about the Election campaigns?
Even voters could understand announcement of the freebies of AAP when the election was near. But the work, this government has done in the education and health sector is truly commendable. Other states of the country have started to take inspiration from Delhi’s, model and plan of action in both these sectors. Maharashtra said that it will adopt the Delhi school model to raise the quality of education. Congress-governed Madhya Pradesh has also announced to open “Sanjivani Clinics” drawing from the Mohalla clinic model of New Delhi government. AAP claims that no state has ever changed the quality and infrastructure of education this better. They also say that while other state governments are in debts, the Delhi government is in profit.
Bhartiya Janta Party, which won all the 7 Lok Sabha seats of Delhi last year in 2019, is banking on nationalism and brand image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP is attacking the opposition in Delhi Election by calling them anti-development and a liar. They are saying that AAP promised to bring 5000 new buses but the number of buses has come down, CCTV cameras and WiFi have not been installed as promised.
Experts say that the majority of voters will look upon the good work done by AAP in the health and education sector. They would want to vote for the free water, electricity and not get into the nationalism politics. However, there is a certain group for whom, the narrative of nationalism works and they seem to fall for it.
