Rhea Chakraborty & the never-ending hate on social media!
Is it fair to troll her for everything she does? Will this hatred ever stop?
Rhea Chakraborty, a name which became one of the most searched names on Google in India in the year 2020. After the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput in June last year, Rhea Chakraborty remained on the radar of many news channels for several months. A lot of them vilified a woman’s image and let’s be honest, they tried to in cash the unfortunate incident. A lot was written and said about Rhea’s equation with Sushant and his family. Constant media trials, misreported facts, concocted lies led to several social media debates, where a lot of people declared Rhea a murderer. Since then, Rhea is subjected to never-ending social media hate.
Is it fair to judge her and leave mean comments every time?
Notably, she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau. She was later released on a bail on October 4, 2020, after spending about a month in Jail. Recently, filmmaker Rumi Jaffery while speaking to spotboye.com revealed, spending a month in jail has crushed Rhea’s morale. He further added 2020 was a traumatic year for her. But guess what? One thing that continues to hound her is – Social Media Hate. Clearly, there is no end to it. Every time she is spotted by the Papps, people on social media troll her mercilessly. But the question is for what? For trying to cope up with life? For trying to start fresh or for being strong? Recently, she was spotted buying flowers in Bandra ahead of SSR’s birth anniversary and the moment video went viral, people were quick to respond.
Several mean comments were left on the post. In fact, a lot of people are using her old videos and claiming that she is happily living her normal life and trying to cash it in. Well, even if she is living her normal life and trying to move on, what is the issue? Keeping in mind that nothing was found against her, is it important to tarnish her image?

Other Women in Bollywood who have been held to different Moral Yardsticks for their romantic relationship
Rhea isn’t the first woman who is receiving such hatred from people all across the nation. It is more into our notice because of social media. But there were other Bollywood female actors who have been held to different moral yardsticks for their romantic relationships or public conduct. In the 1990s, it was the beauty icon Rekha who was blamed for the death of her husband. Her Mother –in – law called her Dayaan and said – Woh Dayaan mere bete ko kha gyi. Her words were all over. Rekha didn’t claim her husband’s property & there was no case against her. The life-altering incident silenced her.
In fact, when NCB was probing Sushant Singh’s case many women were accused. From Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor to Rakulpreet Singh & Sara Ali Khan, all were hounded by the media mercilessly. They were trolled on social media and received a lot of hate. Bollywood was portrayed as a den of vice where only women were involved.
Coming to veteran actress Parveen Babi, who was struggling with a mental health condition was called Mad by the media. According to an article in Aljazeera, Bollywood learnt about her mental issues in the year 1979, and her mental health was stigmatised to such an extent that initially, her manager said she has jaundice. Since then, her controversial life and mental issues are discussed more than her talent and phenomenal work and that’s sad.
Sushant’s case deserves a closure: We totally agree!
Sushant Singh Rajput is definitely a man to remember. He was a prodigy and was more than just an actor. He deserves closure and we all want it. It should be fair. Recently, Rhea’s lawyer also requested CBI to reveal its findings. Till then, let us wait for it. Leaving mean comments and trolling her would not give Justice to Sushant.
