Paris Olympics 2024: Celine Dion makes live comeback, performs at opening ceremony | See pics

Canadian singer Celine Dion who has been recovering from stiff person syndrome performed at the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics. After Lady Gaga and other singers’ performances, Celine Dion has left a memorable closing of the ceremony. This she sung alongside the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower when she shot a scene kind of standing right in front of it and she sang Edith Piaf’s ‘Hymne A L ‘Amour’. A beautiful dress with beads on it, a piano and the rain became the stage for the song by the Canadian singer. She was clearly moved as she sang the last lines of the song and that made many people feel emotionally moved as well. The official page of the Olympics also shared series of pictures that Celine performed on stage.

Celine also posted a series of pictures and also wrote a long caption on how happy she is. Tonight I had the privilege of performing in for the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics and I am elated to be back in one of my all-time favorite cities. Above all, I feel very joyful to be here celebrating these wonderful athletes and their tales of struggle, hard work, tears, sweat and blood. Gentlemen, all of you have been so concentrated on your dream and whether you win the prize or come home empty-handed, I wish it to come true for each of you to be here. You all should feel proud, yes you all should for you have been training and studying hard to become the best of the best. Hang in there, just carry on, you have my support! ” she wrote.

This was the first time Dion was performing since her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022. The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics had not happened at a stadium as is the tradition but was held outside a stadium. Well, what can I say, it revealed some of the attractive areas in Paris, for instance, the Eiffel Tower? It was a magnificent parade involving 3 500 actors-dancers and singers.
