Complete list of all the red zones in India
As the coronavirus cases continue to surge up, the government is taking all the precautions to defect the deadly virus. To implement stricter measures against the current outbreak in the country, the government has classified 170 hotspots in the Red zones and 207 non-hotspot districts with clusters and non-infected areas are classified as green zones.
Red Zones are those areas where coronavirus cases are emerging in large numbers and the growth rate is high. Districts which are witnessing few cases are called non-hotspots. Green Zones are those where there are no coronavirus cases.
The Health Ministry has declared 170 hotspots so far. Out of which 123 hotspot districts are found with large outbreaks and 47 hotspot districts with clusters in a total of 25 states and Union territories. 207 districts are identified as potential hotspots – a place with cases in limited numbers.
Cities or districts contributing to more than 80 per cent of the cases in the country are classified as hotspots (red zone). Places that show a high rate of infection, doubling rate less than 4 days – will also be in this category.
The list released by the Indian government has marked as “large outbreaks” in all districts of big cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, nine districts of Bengaluru Urban, Jaipur, Chennai, and Agra among others.
Tamil Nadu tops the list with 22 districts in the hot spots followed by 11 each from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, 9 from Uttar Pradesh, eight from Telangana, 6 from Kerala, 5 from Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, 4 from West Bengal and 3 from Karnataka.
