According to authorities, social media personality Balwant Kataria, also known as Bobby Kataria, was detained on May 27 on suspicion of trafficking two young people from Uttar Pradesh.

In the case of Human trafficking- Two men from Uttar Pradesh, who have been identified as Deepak Poojari and Sonu, were allegedly trafficked by the Alwar MP Bobby Kataria on May 27, informs the police.
The police said they have registered the case under section 370 of Indian Penal Code against Kataria at the Bajghera police station in Gurugram.
The complainants named Arun Kumar of Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, and Manish Tomar of Hapur shared that they had no job. This was revealed when prosecuting lawyers said the duo has been in contact with Kataria through the instagram.

According to the complainants, they watched a video by MBK on Bobby’s YouTube channel where they posted an advertisement about a job that claims to be based in an abroad country. After this they called Bobby Kataria on his WhatsApp. On convincing them, Bobby called them to his office in Sector 109 with an assurance that he would help them get a job overseas.
The complainant then met him only in his office on 01.02.2016 in his capacity as respondent No 2 and paid ₹2,000 as registration fee.
Aggravating the matters, in response to a plea made by Bobby Kataria, on February 13, ₹50,000 was deposited into his official account, which has been created in the name of MBK Global Visa Private Limited.
Later, another transfer of 1 lakh rupees was made on its own to one Ankit Shaukeen on 14 th March on the instructions of Bobby. Kataria shared the tickets of Vientiane country of Laos with Shaukeen through the WhatsApp social media application.
On March 28, as per the directions of Bobby Kataria, Kumar exchanged ₹50,000 at the Nahar Singh foreign exchange airport counter and flew to Vientiane.
Likewise hundreds of thousands were seized from one friend Manish Tomar with promise that he was being sent to Singapore but he was instead sent to Vientiane.
Through human trafficking, brokers such as Bobby Kataria lured over 150 Indians, including women, into that company under the guise of jobs. We managed to get out of there, made it to the Indian Embassy, returned to India, and lodged a police report against Kataria,” the complainant said to the authorities.
