Don’t stereotype the politicians of new India, they hit the gym to remain in shape
We generally relate politicians to address a mass gathering, make false promises, never come back again once they win the election and travel their life away, but we look into only one side of the coin. Much like the common man, politicians too are human beings and they seek fortune, fitness and fame. It is good to see politicians, whom we generally see exercising their oratory prowess on public platforms or engaging in political dialogue, pulling off stunts in the fitness centres. Here is a look at some of the politicians who maintain a strong fitness regime.
Kiren Rijiju
Union Sports and Youth Minister Kiren Rijiju does Yoga and workouts regularly to remain in shape. He was a strong competitor to Rajyavardhan Singh during the Fit India challenge. Forever upbeat Kiren Rijiju finds any excuse to get his fit doses in daily regimen and without much fuss by hitting the gym wherever and whenever, cycling or going yoga.

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore
Chirag Paswan
The President of LJP (Lok JanShakti Party), Chirag Paswan is dedicated to maintaining a fit body. It is said that the junior Paswan exercises for two hours in a day, which includes a mix of weights, cardio and functional training. Chirag is one of the fittest politicians of India, who doesn’t shy away from stretching, yoga or working out at night and maintain a good diet.
Sachin Pilot
Sachin Pilot, the man who recently made news in Rajasthan, tries to keep himself as fit as he can despite the tremendous work-pressure. He starts his morning with a healthy breakfast of sprouts. Although he has to eat junk or unhealthy food due to lack of resources, he maintains it by exercising. Running twice in a week or playing football with his son helps him maintain his shape. It is believed that he does not rely on artificial shakes and energisers to remain upbeat.
Anil Antony
Anil Antony, son of former defence minister A. K. Antony, is a hardcore fitness enthusiast. He was a player of basketball and tennis while he was in college, but later he couldn’t continue it due to lack of time. Yet, he maintains his physique by making fitness a regular part of his life. He is a mixture of Yoga and gym person, who retorts to proper dietary proportions to keep himself ahead of the fit bandwagon.
Jaganmohan Reddy
The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jaganmohan Reddy, one of the richest politicians of the country, is amongst the fittest of the political tribe in India. He abides by his daily fitness routine without fail by waking up early no matter when he gets to sleep. He also restricts himself to a frugal and simple vegan diet that has helped keep him active, energized and fit all through his hectic political commitments.
Jyotiraditya Scindia
Former Member of Parliament, Jyotiraditya Scindia, who changed his party from Congress to BJP, maintains a dedicated routine of fitness. He exercises 6-days in a week including weights, treadmill, and cross-trainer. He likes to go swimming, play badminton or just walk for fitness. He also maintains a regular healthy-diet for a fit lifestyle.
Anurag Thakur
Anurag Thakur, MP from Himachal Pradesh and Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs hasn’t let his duty come in the way of fitness. He has been a sports enthusiast since his school days. He has even captained Himachal Pradesh in first-class cricket against Jammu and Kashmir. To maintain his physique, he prefers jogging, running, playing badminton or cricket. It is also reported that he does late-night workouts to keep himself fit.
