The state administration has initiated preparations to induct transgenders into the Kerala police force, in what may be described as a historic gesture. The government recommendation has been accepted, according to sources at the police headquarters.
The main topic of debate will be where trans individuals should be accommodated and how they should be recruited. The ADGP (Intelligence) will make a final report and submit it to the Director-General Of Police (DGP).

The Nettukaltheri open prison in Kerala has launched a culinary program to help inmates make a career in the food industry. The program, which is supported by the Family Association of India, aims to teach cooking to interested inmates so that they can work as chefs during their parole period or when they are released.
The training program will last a week, and those who do well will receive certifications from industry professionals.
Good news: Radio for social change
In the tribal-dominated Koraput block where government benefits rarely reach the people, a community radio station- Dhimsa, has become a tool for social change.
Set up by South Voluntary Action (SOVA) with UNICEF support in 2008 at Chhapar village. Radio Dhimsa disseminated information on government schemes, highlighting various issues through narrowcasting in the Desia language for over a decade.

It reaches out to areas in a 12 km radius, covering a population of 125000 people spread across 63 villages of six-gram panchayats. Listeners clubs are formed in each of these villages.

With the use of a smartphone and free railway Wi-Fi, Sreenath K passed the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) state services test and then the UPSC civil services exam despite a lack of resources.
Sreenath, a Munnar native, began his working life as a coolie in Ernakulam.
However, he realized in 2018 that his earnings would not be enough to pay his family’s future expenses. Despite the fact that things appeared to be difficult, Sreenath was motivated to change his situation.
Good news: Himachal Pradesh becomes the 1st smoke-free state in India
Giving a great contribution to environmental conservation Himachal Pradesh has become the first smoke-free state in India. It now has 100% of households with LPG connections.

The Ujjwalla Yojana of the Central Government and the Grihini Suvidha Yojana of the state government have played an important role in this achievement. Under the Ujjwala scheme, 1.36 lakh free domestic connections were distributed in Himachal Pradesh whereas under Grihini Suvidha Yojana 3.23 lakh free gas LPG cylinders were given.

Scripting history at the Yonex-sunrise India open, Indian shuttle players have bagged men’s doubles and singles. Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy won India open men’s doubles title by defeating Mohammed Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan. They registered a fantastic 21-16, 26-24 win. When it comes to the Singles crown, Lashay Sen defeated current World champion Loh Kean yew in 24-22, 2117 game and gained his first India Open title in the men’s singles.
