The actor recently shared on Instagram about the health benefits of the tea, including the ability to treat diabetes, acne, high cholesterol, and more, the post has since been deleted. She thanked her nutritionist Munmun Ganeriwal for the information, and said that it helps in boosting immunity and has antioxidant properties.
However, the post was shut down almost immediately by Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, who is popularly known as The Liver Doc on his social media accounts. Dr. Philips strongly denied Nayanthara’s allegations, calling them “absolute BS” and accusing the actor of posting false health information. He elaborated that there was no scientific backing to the claims made in the post about hibiscus tea. Dr. Philips also dismissed the post as an apparent self- advertisements for Ganeriwal’s services, referring to the claims as ‘borderline’ pseudoscientific.
