However, different nutrients can work as magnets and attract more mosquitoes to you – or so you hoped, while riding a bike, for instance. For instance while bananas, avocados and other foods with potassium will ramp up your lactic acid levels and as a result be more attractive to mosquitoes.
Skin Microbiome:
There is also something about your diet that shapes the skin microbiome and therefore impacts the attractiveness to the mosquitoes. Such things as the nature of foods that change the type of bacteria on the skin will make you either irresistible to these insects or the reverse.
Altogether, if you are a person who gets bitten by mosquitoes more frequently than others, it may be useful to pay more attention to one’s diet. You might become less attractive to these persistent nuisances if you cut your intake of sweet, salty and processed foods, and also drink less alcohol.
