A strong supporter of Ayurveda, the Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud, adopted its holistic approach towards health.
Speaking at the International Conference on Advancements in Research and Global Opportunities for Holistic Ayurveda, CJI Chandrachud shared his journey to Ayurveda, which started during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He did not take allopathic medicines and lay in bed during the second and third waves, with Ayurvedic treatment alone for his recovery. This only fortified him in his belief in the curative powers of Ayurveda.

To him, Ayurveda is the science of balancing the human body, mind, and spirit. Its cleansing and regimen maximization principles are essential for health maintenance in the long term, especially during these busy, anxiety-ridden times.
He was keen to point out that Ayurveda provides not only stress management but also quality-of-life improvement. In a striking disclosure, the Central Equity of India DY Chandrachud on Thursday unveiled his reception of a veggie lover diet and obligation to rehearsing yoga as basic parts of his way of life.
Underscoring the significance of comprehensive prosperity, CJI Chandrachud unveiled that he has stuck to a veggie lover diet for the beyond five months and means to proceed with this dietary routine.
“I practice Yoga. I awakened at 3:30 earlier today to do yoga. Furthermore, I have been following a vegetarian diet throughout the previous 5 months. I’m attempting to zero in on an all encompassing example of life, which starts with what you eat, obviously, and what you put into your framework,” Boss Equity Chandrachud told ANI while sharing bits of knowledge into his wellbeing rehearses.

Infrastructure will also be the need to cater to an increasing scale of Ayurveda, CJI Chandrachud has highlighted. He has praised the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) for the impressive setup that includes two campuses, six extension centers, and 44 specialty outpatient departments.
Through postgraduate and PhD programs, AIIA makes a vital contribution to the education and research landscape that will nurture future Ayurvedic practitioners.
CJI likewise shared his experience when he was down with Coronavirus interestingly and Top state leader Narendra Modi called him and proposed him ‘Vaidya’ from AYUSH for treatment.
“I have been related with AYUSH since Coronavirus broke. I had a genuinely terrible assault with Coronavirus and the Head of the state hit me up and said, ‘I accept that you are down with Coronavirus and I trust all is well. I understand that you are not looking great but rather we will do everything.
There is a ‘Vaidya’ who is likewise a Secretary at AYUSH and I will orchestrate a call with him who will send you medication and all.’ I took medication from AYUSH when I was down with Coronavirus. The second and third times when I had Coronavirus, I took no allopathic medication at all…,” said CJI.
According to him, Ayurveda should be made equitably available to all. He also mentioned that the Indian Constitution owes to the right of health and that should not be denied on account of financial incapacitation.
At the same time, he said research into the ancient Ayurvedic wisdom is still required to make it applicable to modern health issues, which would require more collaborative efforts that would help Ayurvedic treatment reach out to all sections of society.
