Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau appears to be inclining more towards Jagmeet Singh of New Democratic Party and his Khalistani sympathies, which may lead to Hindus in Canada being targeted for a vote in favor of Singh in order to survive politically. With relations souring between India and Canada, Trudeau seems to be relying on far-left and radical groups in order to court the Sikh vote.

For this reason, six Indian diplomats led by High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma threatened by pro-Khalistani groups are planning to return to India. India now has nine diplomatic representations in Canada and Canada will have 15 in India indicating estrangement in relation.

This can be seen with Trudeau’s shift to the murder of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on June 18 2023, that is overtly political in nature and seeks to gain more support among Sikh population. These strategies may only serve Trudeau’s election interests, dismissing evidences against Khalistan terrorists and targeting Indians and Sikhs to garner votes of these extremophiles at the cost of straining Can-India relations.
