Moscow: According to Crimea’s Russian-installed governor, Sergei Aksyonov, 28 drones were either shot down or destroyed during the night. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The region has witnessed a rise in drone attacks recently, as Ukraine pushes back against Russian forces in a counter-offensive. Since Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, the international community has not recognized the move, and Kyiv has expressed its intent to reclaim the peninsula.

On Monday, waterborne drones targeted the Kerch bridge, the only link connecting Russia to Crimea. This attack was a significant blow to Russia’s troop movements in Ukraine and occurred just before a crucial deal to export Ukrainian grain was set to expire.
