He is set to meet with Indian and US business leaders in Washington DC, followed by an address to the Indian community. The visit has been marked by notable agreements in areas like defense, space, and quantum computing.
PM Modi: Discussions & Business Speech:
During the final day, PM Modi will engage in discussions with prominent US officials, including Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during a lunch at the State Department. Later, he will deliver a speech to business leaders at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. Over 1,200 participants, including executives from major American companies like FedEx, MasterCard, Adobe, as well as representatives from Indian companies such as Tech Mahindra and Mastek, are expected to attend the event.

During the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a speech exclusively for the Indian community at a reception organized by the United States Indian Community Foundation (USICF). The event will take place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC.

Warm Welcome & Strong Partnerships:
Throughout PM Modi’s visit, the Indian community has shown immense support, with large numbers attending various events. At the South Lawn of the White House, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden warmly welcomed the Prime Minister. Following their discussions in the Oval Office, President Biden and PM Modi jointly addressed the media, highlighting the flourishing economic relationship between the two nations. President Biden described the economic ties as “booming,” while PM Modi emphasized the commencement of a “new chapter” in the strategic partnership between India and the United States.

PM Modi: Community Speech & Congress Address:
During the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a speech exclusively for the Indian community at a reception organized by the United States Indian Community Foundation (USICF). The event will take place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi had the opportunity to address both chambers of the United States Congress, making it his second address to a joint sitting and a first for any Indian prime minister. In his speech, PM Modi seemed to indirectly reference US concerns regarding China by expressing support for a “free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific” region. He remarked that the Indo-Pacific was experiencing the presence of coercive and confrontational forces.

The Biden administration extended a warm welcome to PM Modi, as the US sees India as a strategic counterweight to China. Several significant agreements were announced during the visit, including investments by US firms to boost semiconductor manufacturing in India and reduce its reliance on China for electronics. Furthermore, the two nations forged significant deals pertaining to fighter jet engines and space cooperation, signifying a deepening partnership in defense and space exploration.
