Following Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claim last year that India was maybe involved in the death of Khalistani separatist and designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in his nation, ties between the two nations suffered some sourness. The relationship between the two nations has deteriorated since India refuted the accusation, calling it “absurd” and “motivated.” India halted all visa services, including e-visa services, to Canada on September 21. This was announced the day before, along with a travel alert for Indian nationals visiting Canada and a warning to the Indian population residing there that they would be “targeted.”
