Pop superstar Taylor Swift has spoken out about the current state of US politics, expressing her support for US Vice President Kamala Harris over Donald Trump. Taylor posted a lengthy message on her Instagram account, supporting Kamala after the presidential debate between the Democrat and former US President, Republican candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday.
Mock Donald Trump
In August 2024, Donald Trump posted numerous AI-generated images that incorrectly showed Taylor Swift and her supporters backing his presidential bid. In response, she penned in her latest post, “I was recently alerted to AI content featuring ‘me’ falsely supporting Donald Trump’s presidential campaign that was uploaded to his website. It sparked my concerns regarding AI and the risks of spreading false information.”

Reasons for choosing Kamala Harris
Her statement on Instagram was, “I plan to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.” I support @kamalaharris because she advocates for the rights and causes I think require a warrior to advocate for them. I believe she is a talented leader with a steady hand, and I think we can achieve a lot more in our country if we have a calm leader instead of chaotic.”
The debate between Kamala and Donald
Prior to criticizing Donald for using her name wrongly, Taylor encouraged people to tune into the presidential debate before deciding on who to vote, “Just like many of you, I watched the debate tonight.” If you haven’t done so yet, now is an ideal moment to conduct research on the current issues and the positions that these candidates have on the topics that are most important to you.
Message to voters
Taylor encouraged her American supporters to register and vote in the upcoming elections, stating, “I have conducted my research and made my decision.” The research is completely up to you, and the decision is yours to make. Additionally, I’d like to remind individuals who are voting for the first time that they must be registered in order to cast their vote.”
