In July, there will be 15 bank holidays in India. Mark the dates, from July 5 with Guru Hargobind Jayanti and to July 29 with Muharram. If you need to go to the bank during this month, it is recommended to check the list of holidays.
In July 2023, banks in different states will have a total of 15 holidays, including all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays. It’s important to note that bank holidays can vary depending on the state you are in. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulates most banking activities and determines the bank schedules and holidays for the entire year. Bank holidays in India include mandatory holidays set by the banking sector as well as additional holidays for festivals and special occasions authorised by different states.

Both public sector and private sector banks do not work on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, as per RBI guidelines. Banks are also closed on federally recognised holidays, as well as local holidays set by individual states. In July, there will be 15 bank holidays, starting with Guru Hargobind Jayanti on July 5. According to the RBI calendar, apart from weekends, there will be 8 bank holidays in July. In accordance with the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881, the federal government has divided holidays into three groups.

During these bank holidays, essential services like ATMs, cash deposits, online banking, and mobile banking will still be available, so banking-related tasks will not cause inconvenience to people.
Furthermore, the RBI announced on May 19 that it will be withdrawing the Rs 2000 denomination banknotes from circulation as part of its “Clean Note Policy.” However, these notes will still be considered legal tender. All banks are providing facilities for depositing or exchanging Rs 2000 banknotes until September 30, 2023.
