Time for the Met Gala 2024! Yes, the first Monday of May (or early Tuesday in India) is approaching, and this year’s red carpet premiere featured early A-listers like Jennifer Lopez, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, party chief Anna Wintour, and entrepreneur Isha Ambani.
There were flowers everywhere, and the wearer donned a black cloak covered in multicolored flowers in keeping with the concept of “The Garden of Time.” One of the co-chairs of the celebration, Lopez, looked like a silver goddess, embracing her figure like a second skin. Undoubtedly, it’s a celebration, complete with cocktails and supper for some 400 visitors who have been invited, but it’s also a major fund-raiser for the Costume Institute at the Met, the only museum department that has to cover its own costs. The gala raised almost $22 million the year before. The entire thing is coordinated by Anna Wintour, a Met trustee for whom a section of the institute bears her name. Ballard from 1962 served as the basis for this year’s subject. Given that the previous year’s theme was “everything Karl Lagerfeld”.

Alia Bhatt – IG post
Alia Bhatt shared photos from the Met Gala on Instagram along with a detailed description of her ensemble. It was an homage to art and eternity, a summons to the Garden of Time. We recognize that things made with care and patience can endure a lifetime, and that timelessness has no limits. During our quest to find an Indian take of this global concept, the attire developed a personality of its own. The saree is the epitome of tradition and innovation; under the expert guidance of @sabyasachiofficial, this idea was fully realized. We took inspiration from the ageless grace of Indian aristocracy and looked to the past to shape the present.
