The Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar has filed for divorce from her spouse Mohsin Akhtar Mir, a businessman and model. Eight years into their marriage, the pair apparently gave their decision “careful consideration.”

A close insider claims that Urmila has started the divorce process in court and that they are not amicably separating. On February 4, 2016, Urmila and Mohsin got married in a private ceremony that was attended by close friends and family at her Mumbai home. In 2014, they first met at the niece’s wedding of designer Manish Malhotra, and that’s when their romance started.

As a young actor, Urmila Matondkar initially gained recognition in Shekhar Kapur’s Masoom, which was based on Erich Segal’s 1980 novel Man, Woman, and Child. Throughout the 1990s, she went on to star in a number of popular movies, such as Rangeela, Judai, Satya, Mast, Khoobsurat, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Bhoot, and Ek Hasina Thi.
