Check out these Upcoming Sequels of Our Favorite Nostalgic Movies
Bollywood is coming with a bunch of sequels of our favourite nostalgic movies soon, and we are beyond excited. Have a look at 5 such movies, some of which will be releasing this year!!
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is the sequel of the 2007 horror comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in leading roles, the movie is scheduled for release on 19th November 2021. Replacing Akshay Kumar’s immaculate comic timing and flawless acting in the nostalgic movie will be a difficult task for Kartik. But we believe that Kartik will do just fine as he has done in several comedy movies. Kartik has starred in comedy movies like the Pyar ka Punchnama series and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Initially scheduled to be released on July 31 2020, the production was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hera Pheri 3
The producer of the Hera Pheri films Firoz Nadiadwala recently confirmed that Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal will be reprising their roles in the third instalment of the evergreen nostalgic movie. He said that the script has been finalized. He also teased the possibility of several more Hera Pheris. Firoz will have to be careful taking the franchise forward as the movies have developed a sort of cult around it that keeps the movie alive with memes. The movie has yet to find its director but it was confirmed that the story will be a continuation of the Phir Hera Pheri released in 2006.
Bunty Aur Babli 2
Starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and debutante Sharvari Wagh, Bunty Aur Babli 2 was announced on 17 December 2019. The filming of the much-awaited movie was wrapped up in September 2020. Earlier scheduled to be released on 26 June 2020, the movie’s release has been postponed. The movie will be about the power couple Bunty and Babli, who is forced out of retirement after a spate of robberies with their trademark sign start appearing across India. The movie will be directed by Varun V. Sharma, who will be debuting as a director. The release of the movie is being held back as the producers want to release it at a more opportune time. It will be exciting to see the blockbuster couple of Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji deliver a big hit as they did with Hum Tum and Ta Ra Rum Pum.

Go Goa Gone 2
Go Goa Gone introduced India to a new genre of movies in 2013, zom-com. The sequel of the zombie comedy movie will be retaining its cast of Vir Das, Kunal Khemu, Saif Ali Khan, and Anand Tiwari. The movie was a fun ride with occasional scares and was considered an absolute success for the first film in the new genre. The producer Dinesh Vijain mentioned that the movie will be dealing with aliens instead of zombies this time around. The film was to be released in March of 2021 but COVID-19 induced lockdown has postponed it to an undisclosed date.

A sequel to the nostalgic movie Dostana released in 2008 is rumoured to release in 2022. It was scheduled to resume filming this month after being halted in March 2020 due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown. The film will star Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Laksh Lalwani in leading roles. Kartik Aryan will again have big shoes to fill in as the movie will not feature the loved duo of Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. We hope that the movie will be as funny and good as its prequel. The film will be directed by debutant Collin D’Cunha. Kartik Aryan was quoted saying that Dostana 2 would certainly push the envelope for him. It was also confirmed that the gay characters in the movie will be much better portrayed and represented and that movie will talk about sexuality in a way that will not make you cringe while watching it.
