Contractual Boundaries with Colors
Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Upasana has explained that just as the show had run two years successfully, Upasana realized that her role had been quite exhausted. According to her though, she has never been the reason for departure from the show. She confirmed that she does not have complaints with Kapil, and was on good terms.

It was when Kapil had differences with Colors and moved his show to Sony. While most of his team followed him, Upasana couldn’t join them as she was bound by her contractual commitment with Colors. “My contract was with Colors, not with Kapil’s team. When Kapil moved to Sony, I was bound by my agreement with Colors,” she clarified.

A Difficult Transition with Krushna’s Show
Colors replaced Kapil’s show with a new comedy venture that was featuring Krushna Abhishek, and Upasana had to be there till the contract went off. She recalls this time as not exactly a pleasant experience because Kapil and Krushna’s teams have always fought like cat and mouse.

“The environment wasn’t as enjoyable. Both teams weren’t on good terms, and I didn’t feel the same connection or creative satisfaction,” she shared. Despite the challenges, she honored her contractual obligations with professionalism.

Insights on Kapil’s Rise and Challenges
Addressing the much-discussed fallout between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover during their Australia tour, Upasana said she wasn’t part of the team at the time. She, however, sensed brewing tensions and noted changes in the set’s atmosphere.
“When someone achieves great success, not all well-wishers are genuinely supportive,” she remarked, hinting at the pressures Kapil had to face at the time of his rising glory.

When asked if she would work with Kapil again, she enthusiastically said that she would gladly collaborate with him in the future.
